Microsoft's Office Live Meeting offers your business the ability to hold conferences and meetings online, allowing even employees in branches overseas or elsewhere the ability to attend. Live Meeting is often used in Windows systems with a downloadable software client. However, Live Meeting sessions can also be hosted on the Web, allowing users of the otherwise incompatible Mac OS X operating system the ability to attend. Attending a Web session with OS X is relatively simple, requiring little more a Java plug-in and Mozilla's Firefox or Apple's Safari Web browser.
Preparation
1.Open Safari and click on 'About Safari' from the 'Safari' menu. Cross-check the version number against the minimum requirements listed in this article.
2.Click the Apple icon in the upper left corner of the home screen and select 'About This Mac.' Cross check the OS version with the minimum requirements listed in this article.
3.Click the hard drive icon on the desktop and browse to 'Applications.'
5.Type the following command and make a note of the version number:
java -version
6.Type the following command into the terminal and press 'Enter':
/Applications/Utilities/Java Preferences.app/Contents/MacOS/Java Preferences
This will open the preferences menu.
7.Select 'Run applets: in their own process' from the Java Preferences window.
Note: The ability to run applets is dependent on the version of Java being used.
Attending the Meeting
1.Open your preferred email client and navigate to the meeting invitation sent to you via email by the meeting's host. By clicking the invitation, the Office Live Meeting Java client will open in the browser.
2.Click 'Accept and Use' under 'Use Live Meeting Web Access (Fastest).'
3.Enter your name in the name field on the next page and click 'Join Meeting.' If prompted to trust the applet, click 'Yes.' The meeting should then launch in your browser.
